Newport Digital Technologies, Inc. is very excited to have the world-renowned clinical surgeon and transplant specialist, Dr. Leonard Makowka, join the Advisory Board. Dr. Makowka brings a legacy of medical accomplishments and experience to Newport Digital. With an M.D. from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. from the institution's Department of Pathology, Dr. Makowka has published over 400 articles and chapters in both clinical and basic scientific research.

WiMax - the next generation wireless technology to WiFi, which allows for up to a 30 mile range for Internet connectivity and throughputs to 40Mbps. I was thoroughly wowed when WiFi was introduced to the market, and now this! What a dream for someone like myself who is constantly scurrying about town.

Now naturally, given the ubiquity of laptops and various mobile computers with default internet access, a great deal of us take this near phenomena for granted. Unfortunately, a large fraction of our community is not economically inclined to access such modern convenience. Newport Digital Technologies has a unique position to help in many facets of our community, and an opportunity has recently been revealed.

What the heck does that mean?

Think of your current wireless internet solution you may have at your office or home. Connectivity to the Internet is limited to so many feet. Imagine taking your high speed broadband Internet mobile to the local park or coffee shop without having to connect to a WiFi "hotspot" and maintain the same, original connection?

As we close out the year for Newport Digital Technologies (NPDT), lets take a moment to recap a few of the many highlights from 2009.

NPDT took its first significant stride in August when  it signed a distribution agreement with Igram Micro Corporation, one of the world's best, most efficient distribution channels. Ingram Micro's vast network of distribution partners, value added resellers, value added distributors and systems integrators worldwide gives NPDT the opportunity to reach customers in a very efficient manner. This is the first and key relationship in building NPDT into a worldclass technology solution company.
